The Legislative Session included the election of Officers, Area Directors, and At-Large Directors that will serve a two-year term beginning August 1, 2010.

Being term-limited by the current State Association By-Laws, President Nancy Mills was unable to run again, and thus, her position was open.  Nancy chose this opportunity to retire from over 25 years of service to the state, and go back to being a local delegate to the convention.  Keith Sanders of Columbia, outgoing 2nd Vice President, ran unopposed and was elected to the Office of President.

Dennis Hacker of Longtown ran unopposed for the Office of 2nd Vice President, and was also elected by the delegation for a two-year term.

The even-numbered Area Directors were all up for election this year, and four ran unopposed:  Herb Schwartz from Palmyra for Area 2; Deann Megonnel from Warsaw for Area 4; Samuel Morgan from St. Charles for Area 6; and Bill Stillions from Joplin for Area 8.  All were elected by the delegation.

Area 10 was vacated by Dennis Hacker when he was elected to be 2nd Vice-President.  Jim Simpson from Perryville was nominated from the floor, and with all requirements met, was elected to serve as Director for Area 10.

The even-numbered At-Large Directors were also up for election this year.  All but one position was unopposed as well.  Donald Bray from Springfield was elected as Director At-Large 2; first-time Director Marci Jenkins from Kansas City was elected as Director At-Large 4; Glenda Fry was re-elected as Director At-Large 8; and Gary Voss from Glencoe was re-elected as the At-Large Director 10/Proprietor on the board.

In the At-Large Director 6 position, Richard Goodin of St. Peters was opposed by Jack Horvath of Laurie, with Goodin winning the only written ballot on the slate.

The only legislative item was Proposed Amendment 1, where there was a term limit of two consecutive terms for an officer elected to the State Board.  The proposed change was that there would be no term limits for officers, and the amendment was approved by the delegation.
