05/17/2010--The 2010 MSUSBC Youth Championships are complete, and the following Teams are Official Champions for this year's tournament.  Divisions are defined by Doubles Team averages, and are as follows:  Division 1, 0-199; Division 2, 200-249; Division 3, 250-299; Division 4, 300-349; Division 5, 350-399; and Division 6, 400 and up.

Nick Gillihan and Jonathan Bommarito from Four Rivers USBC lead the way as Doubles Champions in Division 1.  Nick had quite the tournament, with his 62 average, as he shot 140-121-133 for 394, while partner Jonathan had 428.  Add their 822 scratch pins to 645 pins of handicap, and they capture their division by a slim 11 pins over Alex Frey and Robert Parks, of the Poplar Bluff USBC.

In Division 2, James Johnson and Josh Tharp from the Columbia USBC get the nod.  Their 1,484 won their division by 43 pins over second place Devan Smith and Bradi Cleeton, of the Moberly USBC.  Both bowlers were significantly over their averages, with James at 108 shooting scores of 189, 165, and 154 for 508, and Josh adding 148, 150, and 159 on a 119 average.

The trophies in Division 3 go to Nick Burge and Chase Tyler, who won their division by 62 pins over Cameron Cole Cloven and Alex Sapp from the Columbia USBC.  Nick had games of 121-171-118 for 410, and Chase anchored the team with  184-182-233, for a 599 series.  They shot  1,459 with their handicap to win.

From the West Central Missouri USBC, Daniel Jubell and Chance Wagner lead the way in Division 4 by 27 sticks over Ashley Rice and Brandon Zeigenbein, from Scenic Rivers USBC.  Averaging 162, Daniel shot 622 on games of 218, 192, and 212, while Chance had 549, a full 100 pins better than his average. His high game was 197.

Clayton Cloven and Matthew Nerman from the Columbia USBC won Division 5 by 50 pins over Anthony Burgess and Jacob Johnson, from Four Rivers USBC.  Matthew Herman led the way with a 689 series on a 171 average, 186 pins above.  He had games of 205, 226, and 258.  Clayton shot 213 and 204 to start, before finishing with a 154 for 571.

In Division 6, Aaron Moore and Temer Ervin teamed up for 1,412 scratch to win by 52 pins over Quentin Mamer and Blake Demore from the Greater Springfield MO USBC.  Aaron shot 715 on the strength of 255, 236, and 224, and Temer nearly matched him with 277, 205, and 215 for a 697.  Neither of the top two teams received handicap, so it was straight up scratch bowling to win this division.

Nice job to our 2010 Doubles Champions!
